Verse 16 of Sura al-Qiyama and Ghadir
Verse 16 of Sura al-Qiyama is a verse that was revealed after the malevolent conversation of some hypocrites during the Event of Ghadir.
The context of the revelation of Verse sixteen of Sura Al-Qiyamah in the Event of Ghadir is depicted as follows: After the completion of the Ghadir Sermon and the ceremony of universal allegiance by the command of the Prophet (s), when Mu'awiya b. Abi Sufyan, Mughira b. Shu'ba, and Abu Musa al-Ash'ari moved away from the tent of allegiance, they began to converse out of malice.
They said things to each other about which Verse sixteen of Sura Al-Qiyamah was revealed:
لَا تُحَرِّکْ بِهِ لِسَانَکَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ,Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it [= the Qur'an]
. Also, Verses thirty-one to thirty-five of Sura Al-Qiyamah were revealed concerning them.[1]
