Verse 18 of Hud and Ghadir
Verse 18 of Sura Hud is a verse that was used in the Ghadir Sermon to curse the enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt and Ghadir.
The context for the use of Verse 18 of Sura Hud in the Event of Ghadir is depicted as follows: In the Ghadir Sermon, the Prophet (s) spoke about the friends and enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) in the Qur'an, saying: مَعاشِرَ النّاسِ، عَدُوُّنا مَنْ ذَمَّهُ اللَّه وَ لَعَنَهُ، وَ وَلِيُّنا كُلُّ مَنْ مَدَحَهُ اللَّه وَ احَبَّهُ.[1]
Here, one of the instances the Prophet (s) referred to is Verse 18 of Sura Hud: Template:قرآن.
Some researchers, in connection with this verse in the words of the Prophet (s), have raised such questions: While lying about the Prophet (s) is lying about Allah: Did the people of Saqifa not say: The Prophet said: Prophethood and Caliphate cannot be combined in one family? Did they not say: The Prophet said: Prophets do not leave inheritance? Did they not attribute dozens of lies to him to achieve their desires? Is there anyone more unjust than these, whom Allah has cursed in the Qur'an?[2]
