Al-Ra'd Verse 25 and Ghadir

From WikiGhadir

Template:Infobox Verse Al-Ra'd Verse 25 is a verse that, based on a sentence in the al-Ghadir Sermon, is used to clarify certain characteristics of the enemies of Ghadir, including the breaking of the divine covenant and corruption on earth. In this verse, they are cursed and promised a dire fate in the Hereafter.

The context for the use of al-Ra'd Verse 25 in the event of Ghadir is depicted as follows: The Prophet (s) says regarding the friends and enemies of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) in the Quran in the al-Ghadir Sermon:

One of the instances that the Prophet (s) points to in this part of the sermon is the verse of the curse on the corruptors on earth (al-Ra'd Verse 25): And those who break the covenant of Allah after confirming it, and sever what Allah has commanded to be joined, and cause corruption in the earth—it is they upon whom is the curse, and they will have the worst abode.

Who were those who broke the divine covenant of Ghadir? Who were those who severed their connection and that of the Islamic community with the family of the Prophet (s), while he had commanded them to maintain that connection? They were the people of Saqifa, whose scope of corruption on earth has continued and will continue until today and until the Day of Judgment. The curse of God in the Quran is imprinted upon their foreheads, and they will have a dire fate in the abode of the Hereafter.[2]
