Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami (b. 1354/1935 - d. 1432/2011) was a Shi'i faqih, mujtahid, usuli, and mufassir in the city of Isfahan, who, by establishing the Ghadirestan Institute under his supervision, became one of the lasting figures in propagating Ghadir.

Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami began his studies at the Isfahan Seminary in 1370 AH after completing his elementary education. Among his teachers, Sayyid Murtada Muwahhid Abtahi and Sayyid 'Ali Musawi Behbahani have been mentioned. Sayyid Shihab al-Din Mar'ashi Najafi and Lutfallah Safi Gulpaygani are also considered among his masters of ijazah.

After completing his education, Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami taught various subjects in the fields of Arabic literature, fiqh, usul, tafsir, 'aqa'id, akhlaq, dirayah, and rijal. The result of his teaching is considered to be the training of many students, each of whom is regarded as a virtuous scholar.

Ayatollah Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami, alongside his academic activities, also played a significant role in social services and charitable affairs. Some of his most important actions in this area include the reconstruction of seminaries.

Lasting Figure of Ghadir

Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami was a Shi'i faqih, mujtahid, usuli, and mufassir in the city of Isfahan, who, by establishing the Ghadirestan Institute under his supervision, became one of the lasting figures in propagating Ghadir.

In 1386 SH (2007), he was proposed the idea of establishing an institute named Ghadirestan that would focus on Ghadir throughout the year. With Faqih Imami's welcome and the necessary approvals, the minutes of the founding board and the text of the statutes were drafted, and he accepted membership on the board of trustees. Additionally, Muhammad Rida Sharifi was appointed as the CEO.

Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami, through his active participation in many meetings of the Ghadirestan Institute, played an effective role in advancing the institute's goals.

Biography

Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami was born on Urdibihisht 13, 1313 SH (Safar 1, 1354 AH / May 3, 1934) into a religious and scholarly family in a religious neighborhood in Isfahan. His birthplace was adjacent to Imamzada Abu l-Hasan Zayn al-'Abidin 'Ali, known as Imamzada Darb Imam.

The lineage of Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami reaches Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a) through thirty intermediaries. He was raised in a religious family under the guidance of his pious mother and his father, Ayatollah Sayyid 'Ata'ullah Faqih Imami.[2]

Demise

According to some sources, Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami passed away on Sunday, Isfand 15, 1389 SH (Rabi' II 1, 1432 AH / March 6, 2011), after many years of service to religion and society. His funeral ceremony was held with extraordinary splendor and with the widespread presence of various segments of the public, officials of Isfahan province, and a group of national authorities. His body was buried next to the shrine of Imamzada Abu l-'Abbas Khurasgan.[3]

According to some sources, Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami began his studies at the Isfahan Seminary at the age of sixteen, around 1370 AH, after completing his elementary education at Qudsi Brothers School.[4]

Teaching and Works

It has been reported that Sayyid Hasan Faqih Imami, after completing his education, taught various subjects in the fields of Arabic literature, fiqh, usul, tafsir, 'aqa'id, akhlaq, dirayah, and rijal. The number of his lessons sometimes reached eight lessons a day.

Faqih Imami paid special attention to teaching, and the result is considered to be the training of many students, each of whom is regarded as a virtuous scholar and is engaged in propagating and promoting the pure religion.[7]
